Our Story

Founded in 2016, Energport, Inc. is a Silicon Valley based supplier of integrated energy storage systems leveraging automotive grade, lithium-iron phosphate battery cells. Lithium-iron phosphate is the safest lithium-ion battery chemistry on the market, and is the optimal chemistry for stationary storage. Energport’s offering ranges from residential energy storage systems to large-scale, containerized systems for businesses and utilities.

Being a strategic partner with one of the world’s largest lithium-ion battery manufacturers, Energport can consistently deliver high quality energy storage systems to exceed customer needs. In addition to our products, Energport provides support to design, size, and finance the most appropriate system for our customers.

The Team

Chairperson of the Board

Ms. Fang is a veteran entrepreneur and investor with deep knowledge of finance and markets. She has over thirty years of experience in international trade and across various industries, with extensive experience in corporate and people management.

Director of Product Development

Kyle Zhao has 8 years of experience in new energy storage, has served for CATL and Energport. Mr. Kyle led the development of the company’s distributed energy storage system, container energy storage system, and household energy storage system.

Prior to Energport, Kyle served as the group leader of Product Development-ESS group in CATL, where he was mainly responsible for energy storage system scheme design, electrical design, system integration and development work. As a senior system engineer (SE) in CATL, he has undertaken the development and design of the company’s important energy storage product platform many times.

Director of R&D

Will Chen have more than 8 years of R&D working in the energy industry. He has served for BYD, CATL and Energport, and participated in the design of more than 50 energy storage projects.

At CATL, Will participated in Fujian Provincial Science and Technology Project for energy storage system in 2015 and Chinese BMS standard for energy storage system in 2016. Later, co-founded Energport with Jack and Kyle. Will’s primarily focus on designing the BMS and EMS.
